This week Muscle Contracting has completed this streetlight LED upgrade on a private lane (6 streetlights).

We used the Razo S-20 fittings supplied by Felicity Smart Infrastructure.

Great quality finish and looking forward to the next job.

Earlier this week we completed Day 2 of job 0271.
We installed the pillar and connected the 25mm 3C NS cable for the workshop and the 16mm 1C NS cable for the pump shed up the hill.

We got the mains connected at the switchboard for the workshop as well as the main earthing system.

The shutdown and changeover is booked for next month where we'll:

- Remove 2 spans of overhead single phase lines
- Remove 2 concrete poles.
- Connect the new underground supply to the pump shed.
- Tail down the 4C 185mm AL cable at the network pillar end for connection.
- Test, liven and commission new underground LV system.

In coming phases of this job we'll be decommissioning and removing overlines lines & poles. Installing and connecting a gyro pillar.

Hey team.
The past few weeks has seen Muscle Contracting travel across the Waikato.

From cable/cable fault locates to lines down, generator installs to inspections and as always, OH/UG's (overhead to underground).

Below are just a few snippets from some of the jobs we've completed these past couple of weeks.

We'll make more detailed posts regarding them over the next coming days.

2026 here we come and what a start its been to the new year.

We've been out there on all sorts of faults from Car v poles, mains entries, switchboard fires, inspections, and even pole removals.

This week we are back to normal and we have some interesting projects already underway and in the pipeline.

Huge shout out to Private Powerline Services and Phase Electrical for getting us in to do their inspections on the faults they've attended during the break.

From us at Muscle Contracting we hope everyone has enjoyed the well deserved break and ready to hit 2026 bigger and better than last year๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Today we attended a fault after WEL Networks faultman informed the customer he can't liven the installation with the mains entry point in that state, after a tree came down.

Muscle Contracting came in and we installed a new timber back board, new mains entry box and completed the connections. This will be a temporary fix as the timber our new back board is fixed to is deteriorating.

Going forward we advised the customer to underground their mains supply. We'll be back out here soon to complete that work.

Recently Muscle Contracting completed 2 separate light restoration projects in collaboration with the Downer for the Hamilton City Council.

Our first site was restoring the lights on the walk way between BNZ and the Novotel. These lights have not worked for years. One of the poles had been knocked over slightly, and the access hatches to the poles posed a serious shock hazard.

We came in, straightened up the pole and got all the lights up and running again.

The walk way in ground lights and a number of the red post lights on Fairfield Bridge was our second mission which the lights have also not worked for a number of years.

We remove the guts of the existing inground lights and installed a LED completely sealed unit fitting into the exiting inground light housing.

Huge thanks to:
Bayonne Construction for the traffic management and civil assistance.

Mechsign - Hamilton who took care of all the custom metal design and manufacturing needed to make all the necessary repairs for both projects.

This past week has seen us attend 2 cable faults out on Pokuru Rd, on Waipฤ Networks network.

Both faults seem to be the result of damage to the cable when installed.

Neither here nor there, Muscle Contracting has made the repairs and the customers are happy.

Here at Muscle Contracting we have the ability to do a little bit more than just "sparky" work.

We noticed this pole in the car park of Harvey Norman had been hit. We reached out and offered to make the repairs.

We had Construction hydro vac around the damaged pole. We cut down the damaged pole and removed the concreted inground cage.

We installed a new 6m square black pole supplied by NZ and installed a new 150W floodlight.

This is one of our first Hi-ab jobs delivered.
We have more lined up and have no intention of slowing down.
