I have been so excited to share my recent discussion with Scott Walker Books!

Scott Walker is one of the world's most experienced kidnap for ransom negotiators.

When I first spoke to him in 2022 the first thing that came to mind was "What a lovely chap". Scott has an amazing way of understanding people and making you feel heard.

After years of surviving the most harrowing of hostage situations Scott now works with leaders sharing his experience in successful negotiation and communication skills.
...And I know I am not alone in feeling like I have been both a hostage and a negotiator within different times in my career.

Scott discusses mindset tools alongside tried and tested techniques to communicate effectively in times of crisis, change and uncertainty.

Leadership isn't for the faint-hearted. To become a good leader it is about knowing yourself and being comfortable in your position.

A good leader does the self-work and knows that the work is never ending because the world of work is always changing .

So leaders, ask yourself - how well do you know yourself?

Why we need to stop lying at work! 19/04/2021

After a few coaching sessions with clients and noticing a few posts in Facebook Groups - can we stop lying in interviews! A job is not something to be 'won' for an ego boost but it's someone's potential livelihood! For every job you win by lying you are effectively stopping the right candidate from getting that job! You also aren't painting a great picture of yourself.

"If you start out omitting information or in fact lying to your employer about your children, life situation or whether you can work the hours stated in the contract you are effectively the same as people who put younger photos of themselves on Tinder or pretend to be something they are not. You will be found out eventually….in fact sooner rather than later and regardless of that, you are starting something based on mistrust."

Why we need to stop lying at work! I am not sure if this has been a new thing or if it’s become more common recently following unemployment during the pandemic but I am slowly losing my patience with the working world and the underhand way that people are acting…..
