Meet Margi Moore, Chair of Hamilton Arts Trust - for just under a year! 🤩

Margi is thrilled to be involved in an organisation that has the capacity and drive to bring art to the people of Hamilton and anyone who has the pleasure to visit our beautiful city.

Over the past 40 years, Margi has been involved in arts and education as a teacher, facilitator, artist, and arts supporter. 🎓🎨

Margi is of the belief Kirikiriroa is the perfect sized city and offers a great balance of community connection, friendliness, and the confidence to progress growth in the city!

She enjoys the way Hamilton has welcomed new artworks and has become known for its public art and murals over the last few years.

She is pictured in front of Kell Sunshine’s mural and is a big fan of the colours, the proximity to great coffee and the relaxing friendly vibe of MADE in Hamilton East! 💚

Meet Charles and Janine!

Charles (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tūhoe, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāpuhi) is a founding member & president of the world championship-winning crew TMD (The Most Dedicated), a collective of creatives from around the world who continue to push artistic boundaries.

Janine (Ngāti Whātua ki Kaipara, Ngāti Pāoa) is one of Aotearoa’s first female street artists whose passion lies in works that reflect local stories.

Their Boon mural ‘A Love Story’ has had the privilege of gracing Kirikiriroa streets since 2018!

“With our murals we always find a local narrative or an iwi connection to a story,” Janine said

The piece speaks of a kārearea (New Zealand falcon) that carried high-born twins Reipae and Reitu from Waikato to Whangarei for marriage. (The story of Whangarei)
