Now's the time to pop in and see us if you're hoping to have something framed before the end of the year!
We'll be closing down for a 3 week break from the 20th of December until 14 January... so actually, if you're hoping to have something framed before mid-January, it'd be a good idea to book it in now! 😊

We are feeling cool by association with the 'Mental Notes Project: A Split Enz Tribute' vinyl recording with and Hamilton School students. 😎 We had fun choosing some unusual colours (taken from the record cover) for custom-painted frames - details below.

Each record is framed with AR70 Antiglare glass by generously sponsored by - giving such crystal clarity it can seem invisible! πŸͺ„πŸ¦„

1909ASH from painted Lemon Ginger, with Venetian Red matboard and matching spacers.

AR10OAK from painted Resene Surfs Up, with Wild Basil matboard and matching spacers.

1291QDQ from Larson Juhl painted Resene Burnt Crimson, with Periwinkle Blue matboard and matching spacers.

Alice Alva's stunning beaded artwork 'Root Bound' : top-mounted on a veeeery pale pink, and framed in a custom painted frame to match, with spacers, and antiglare glass.

Check out our new reel for behind the scenes details on the framing.

One of our favourite humans is exhibiting with us this February! We're pleased to bring you:

COLD COMFORT
By Jennie De Groot
29 January - 1 March 2025

Please join us for the exhibition opening at 5pm next Wednesday 5 February. Nau mai haere mai - all welcome πŸ’š

"Fridge-gazing is the ritual of standing before an open refrigerator, lost in the comfort of indecision. It’s a form of procrastination where lingering in uncertainty provides a momentary escape and time slows as you contemplate without conclusion. The pause between intention and action offers cold comfort...
In creating this series, a celebration of the mundane turned meaningful, I hope to illuminate the deeply personal yet universal narratives our fridges tell about us. Each fridge becomes a portal into the emotional landscapes of its owner, and I invite you to ponder your own relationship with food, comfort, and community. May you find reflections of yourself in these pieces, as they capture the shared experience of seeking solace and sustenance during times of uncertainty."
