Qualifying on Saturday morning saw the circuit still wet from overnight rain. Oh how we wished it had kept raining. P1 in GT4 by over 3 seconds! P7 in combined times. I’m not just saying it but Walter and I just own this place in the rain.

Race 1. By this time, usual weather had returned and the track was dry. Great battle had on track, but due the equalising weather moving on, the horsepower cars pulled away on the straights and did a great job of not letting me get too far ahead through the infield. Eventually we ended up P4.

Sunday- Race 2.
We started further back in the pack with the reverse grid handycap but quickly got on with chasing down cars. Ended the race P4 but with penalties applied due to other drivers breaking out we saw P2 in the end.

Race 3.
As usual Walter got off the line like a rocket. But again got held up through the infield and passed by faster cars on the straights. This did bring a season highlight though as I battled race long with the legend Brian Hamilton and his son Stephen. This will live with me for a long time as one of the greatest races Ive had.
I discussed last season with Brian about not retiring until we had one last season to battle it out. And although I was overall victorious in this bout, he definitely didn’t let it go easy and on his own admission wasn’t going to concede. Even till the last race he fought. And on this occasion beat me to the line.
Brian, I have the utmost respect for you and your family. Thank you.

In the end, we finished our season on an incredible high. P3 overall for the weekend and taking home P3 in the championship.
