🌿✨ An historic moment for the church and for all who long for justice!

We celebrate the appointment of Dame Sarah Mullally as Archbishop of Canterbury — a courageous step that lifts up the voices of wāhine in leadership and strengthens our shared mission of equity, compassion, and hope.

Mana wāhine, mana whānau!

We are devastated by the decision of our Government today to not recognise the state of Palestine.

We recognise Palestine today and every day.

We are particularly thinking of our Palestinian whānau in Aotearoa today who live under this government.

We stand with you in the fight for recognition and freedom.

Today, on the 80th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, we remember and pray for all those affected by nuclear weapons. The Anglican Church has long called for the abolition of these weapons of mass destruction, and we reaffirm that commitment today. We pray for a world where peace and justice prevail, and where the threat of nuclear war is a thing of the past.
