Immigration update:
Immigration New Zealand has added 91 new skilled occupations at skill levels 1 to 3 to the National Occupation List (NOL).

NOL is Immigration New Zealand's new alternative to ANZSCO for job classifications.

What this means:
Roles that are Skill Levels 1 - 3 on NOL are recognised under the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) program from today (November 3, 2025) for 5 year work visas.

People on Skilled Work Visas can also support their family members (partner and children) to come to New Zealand.

What are the changes:
The full list of these 91 newly recognized jobs is provided below by sector.

Some of these roles have great titles, such as Dementia Navigator!

Which is your favourite?

>> Agriculture, Horticulture & Forestry:

Leading hands in horticulture and crop production, agricultural technicians, spraying operators, and groundspread nutrient applicators.
Supervisor roles in aquaculture, farming (field crop, outdoor crop, fruit, indoor crop, vineyard, mixed crop, nursery, livestock), forestry, and silviculture are also included.

>> Manufacturing & Production:

Production supervisors across various processing industries such as clay, concrete, glass, stone, paper, pulp, wood, plastics, rubber, textile, footwear, food, drink, meat, poultry, and seafood.

Hazardous materials removalist
Horizontal direction drilling worker
CNC operator for solid timber joinery

>> Construction & Trades:

Technician roles including irrigation, calibration, drug and alcohol testing, wind turbine, geothermal, non-destructive testing, lifting equipment, electric vehicle, bicycle, vehicle integration, heavy equipment, fibre composite, electronic security system and alarm, solar installer, power wash, and rope access technician.

Other roles involve irrigation performance assessor, cabinetry CAD drawer, joinery detailer, CNC programmer for solid timber joinery, senior and general tyre technician, commercial concreter,

Various joinery roles such as site joiner, installer, waterproofer, cabinetry installer, machinist, technician, practitioner, and finisher.

Load lifting rigger is also included.

Roles added in health and social care are

Lifestyles coordinator
Dementia navigator
Dementia homeshare coordinator
Support worker in mental health and addiction
Health coach

>> Hospitality & Tourism:

New jobs in this sector are senior gaming worker, concierge, winery senior cellar hand, and adventure tourism operator.

>> Fitness & Recreation:

Occupations added to this sector include animal trainer, crematorium technician, personal trainer, performance tennis coach, athlete, performing arts/entertainment/events technician, snowsport equipment technician, milliner, and oversize load pilot es**rt.
