We've collected food and beverage cartons from over 100 community points across NZ with The Packaging Forum, for over four years now. Cut open, rinsed, dried, straight into the saveBOARD process.
Cartons are our fibre. Soft plastics are our glue. Our multi-use panels: 30% soft plastics, 70% cartons.

That's the real question behind every "can you recycle our waste" conversation we have, and we have them 2-3 times a week.
Technically, in most cases, the answer is yes. We can make a board out of almost anything. However we're not a landfill. For every 1kg that comes through our doors, we need to sell 1kg of board back out the other side. So the harder question isn't whether we can make the material into a board, it's whether anyone's actually going to buy it.
A textile waste processor asked us that question for real. We ran some trials, and we're now making them 500 sheets of textile board, already sold to paying clients as internal linings for retail fit outs and other applications.
Soon your old clothes, quite literally, could be on the wall of a retail outlet or someone's house. That's the difference between recycling and hoping for the best and a genuine circular economy outcome. We can build the solution, industry has to help pull the demand through, one purchase at a time.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗹𝗳 𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀. 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹.
Every one of those balls was heading nowhere useful. Golf balls are notoriously hard to recycle, the core doesn't break down and most end up landfilled or lost in ponds and rough.
We've partnered with ANZ to shred and blend their collected balls into a golf specific panel that's 99% recycled material for the golfing industry to use.
This is what a circular economy business actually does: find the material nobody else wants, and build a market for it. We wouldn't be doing this, without the support of the golfing industry wanting to close the loop.
If it's hard to recycle, it's exactly the kind of problem we can help solve and provide a solution. The other part, which is demand to pull through the material which needs industry support.
