Having a year-round dry-slope training facility in the Cardrona Valley will improve the wellbeing of New Zealand’s winter sport athletes and their chances of future gold medal success. We're proud to provide project management services for this project alongside our partners Contrax and Snow Sports New Zealand.

Campion College head boy Hamish Swann begins his career in civil engineering next year as the first Civil Project Solutions (CPS) engineering cadet.
Hamish was selected from a strong list of applicants from local high schools.
The CPS cadetship offers a local school leaver a full-time role on the engineering team at CPS Gisborne head office and paid study towards a three-year New Zealand Diploma of Engineering (NZDE).
“This opportunity was perfect for me as I wanted to study engineering but I didn’t want to leave Gisborne,” said Hamish.
“The cadetship will allow me to stay close to family, friends and keep playing hockey, surfing and surf lifesaving.”
CPS Director Gretchen Moylan said the cadetship was a way of offering another pathway for local school leavers who excel in subjects like physics and calculus.
“We need more local civil engineers coming back and staying in Tairāwhiti. What better way to not let them leave in the first place,” she added.
“I’d like to thank all of the amazing young people who spent time with us as part of the selection process. We wish we could take on more than one cadet.”
Hamish’s father Hayden Swann said the cadetship is great for the region.
“We don’t have too many opportunities like this in our region. It’s a big investment and it’s great to see CPS taking the lead.
“We’re proud of Hamish and excited about what he’s going to achieve.”
