Tomorrow we’re taking a pause for Matariki, with the studio closed as we spend time resting, reflecting and connecting with our whānau.

This evening we had the privilege of sharing a Matariki Roll & Release class together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and created such a calm, supportive space to move, breathe and reflect.

Matariki reminds us that rest has value too. It’s a chance to acknowledge where we’ve been, what’s shaped us, and consider what we’d like to carry into the year ahead.

Tonight in class we reflected on the idea this, but rather than thinking about what we might like to achieve in a traditional sense, we pondered how might we want to feel? What do we want to create more space for? Or what are we ready to welcome into our lives?

Tonight’s class gave us the opportunity to slow down, sit with ourselves, and create space for reflection. In the busyness of everyday life, these moments can be hard to come by, but they are often where we reconnect with what truly matters.

We’ll be back in the studio on Saturday.

Mānawatia a Matariki.
