π First Aid for Sports Injuries: The R.I.C.E. Method π

DO:
β Rest β Avoid using the injured area to prevent further damage.
β Ice β Apply ice (wrapped in a cloth) for 15-20 minutes every few hours to reduce swelling.
β Compression β Use a bandage or wrap to support the injury.
β Elevation β Raise the injured area above heart level to minimize swelling.
β DONβT:
β Keep playing β this can worsen the injury.
β Apply heat β it can increase swelling in the first 48 hours.
β Wrap too tightly β it may cut off circulation.
β Ignore severe pain β seek medical attention for fractures or serious injuries.
β Delay treatment β early care speeds up recovery!
