Congratulations to two OP students who received awards at the Startup Dunedin Student Pitch Competition for semester one 👏🤩

Solly Armstrong – in his first year of a Bachelor of Design (Product) - won the Best Product Award for his Base Chalk Bucket, receiving $500 to assist with continuing development 🧗

Meanwhile, second year Bachelor of Culinary Arts student Ashlee Drummy won The Entrepreneur Award for her small home bakery and edible flower growing business, In The Flour Garden 🍰

Double success at Startup Dunedin Student Pitch Competition | Otago Polytechnic Two students have been recognised at Startup Dunedin’s semester one Student Pitch Competition. Product Design student Solly Armstrong won Best Product Award for his Base Chalk Bucket, while Culinary Arts student Ashlee Drummy received The Entrepreneur Award.

It’s been a busy few months for the team at Dunedin company Virtual Eye, which powers international sports broadcasts with its award-winning technology and 3D graphics 👀🏆🏌

And behind the scenes operating this innovative technology is a steady stream of students and graduates from Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health - Otago Polytechnic Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science (Performance Analysis) programme, who work as sports analysts and graphics operators 💪🤩

Otago Polytechnic graduates become Virtual Eye’s secret weapon | Otago Polytechnic A steady stream of students and graduates from Otago Polytechnic’s Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Science (Performance Analysis) programme are excelling as sports analysts and graphics operators for innovative sports technology company, Virtual Eye.

Dunedin designer and Otago Polytechnic School of Design fashion lecturer Amber Bridgman has had her latest collection showcased recently as part of Fiji Fashion Week! 🇫🇯

Amber’s 20-piece collection was featured in the premiere event Resort Luxe, which showcased Pacific glamour, couture and evening wear from 24 designers 😍

She has her own Māori fashion brand KAHUWAI, and based her latest collection on the paua shell, handmaking jewellery using her traditional carving and weaving skills.
