Early Contractual Involvement: building better outcomes from the start.

Traditionally, a contractor is appointed once plans are finalised and tender has closed. Early Contractual Involvement takes a different approach by bringing Pukekohe Builders into the project during the design phase, before key decisions are locked in.

At that stage, we can offer something genuinely useful: honest cost advice, practical input on buildability, realistic programme planning, and early identification of risk.

For clients undertaking complex or high-value builds, it means fewer surprises, a more informed design process, and a construction team that understands the project from the ground up.

It is an approach built on transparency and trust, and one we believe produces better builds.

Otaua School needed a new administration building that was designed to be functional, durable and detailed.

Constructed on a concrete floor on grade with a timber and structural steel frame. The exterior is finished with Coloursteel roofing, Hardies Titan Board, and Hardies Linea Weatherboards, all materials selected for their longevity and low maintenance.

The reception area features a timber feature wall beneath high raking ceilings, with coloured windows that bring warmth and character to the interior.

Our team had a great night attending the Master Builders Commercial Project Awards in Auckland last Friday.

We entered our recently completed Kariaotahi Surf Lifesaving Club taking away Gold Award 🥇 This a fantastic achievement for the team and the work put in behind the scenes to get this project completed!

The cherry on top came with winning one of the three Special Awards given out across all 119 projects! 🏆

A big shout out to our client Jim Coe and Surf Life Saving Kariaotahi, all our consultants, sub-contractors and suppliers for coming onboard for this incredible build!

Te Karaka Station & Lodge is a rural retreat designed to blend naturally into the surrounding landscape, with private guest rooms and communal dining, lounge, and deck areas.

A technically complex build, it combined exposed glulam rafters & beams, concealed fixings, and precise detailing, all delivered through remote access challenges, weather delays, and COVID restrictions.

The result is a refined lodge that reflects quality craftsmanship and thoughtful ex*****on.
