Before the first field recordings for 'After The Cobra Effect' were made, we found a handful of diafilm (slide film) rolls abandoned in the basement of the building we were living in at the time. Left to the elements, mould and salt crystals morphed the character and colours of the initial compositions into something new; a record of time passed, what is left behind, what lingers, and what fades. We carried these transformed 35mm frames with us as we travelled and recorded, their textures echoing the sounds we would later assemble
