Myth: Surface finish is only about speed.
Truth: Not always.
Cutting speed can make a difference to surface finish, but it's only one part of the equation.
Tool geometry, insert condition, feed rate, machine rigidity, tool overhang, and workholding all play a role in the final result.
If the setup isn't stable, increasing speed alone won't magically improve the finish.
In many cases, improving stability or selecting the right tool geometry can make a bigger difference than simply adjusting cutting speed.
