UPDATE: At 02:50pm MetService New Zealand has lifted the Severe Thunderstorm Warning for parts of Auckland.

2:09pm MetService has issued A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for WAIHEKE ISLAND and OUTER HAURAKI GULF including FRANKLIN , These severe thunderstorms are moving towards the south southeast, and are expected to lie near ORERE POINT, THE HUNUA RANGES.

A special shoutout to NZ-RT3 - West Auckland's own Response Team - who recently completed their National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) re-accreditation!

This achievement is the result of enormous dedication and hard work from every member of the team. NEMA accreditations are assessed every three years and are a critical benchmark for ensuring our response teams maintain the highest standards of readiness and capability.

The re-accreditation process involved a comprehensive series of exercises, including:

🚑 Mass casualty
🗺️ Out-of-region deployment
🏠 Welfare support for Civil Defence Centres
