One of the first kitchens in New Zealand to have the pocket door system by Blum New Zealand. Completed in 2023, project Hunua was the perfect layout to incorporate this innovative system where our clients open the doors with a gentle push, allowing optimum flow as it hid away from view.

A standout feature of project Milford was working with . Its detailing around the exterior influences the shadows across the faƧade and adds a dynamic quality to the architectural detail.
A key design feature was the large screens that frame the window glazing. I selected a softer contrasting colour for the screens to break up the faƧade and introduce warmth and visual interest. These screens are effective in providing privacy and creating a beautiful layer across the exterior.
As you approach the front door, the timber soffit draws your eye inward, enhanced by a LED strip recessed into the timber detailing. Selecting the right timber stain colour was pivotal- these subtle details work together and help create a welcoming experience while maintaining the luxury feel of the home.
Seeing the finished result come to life has been incredibly rewarding. The combination of materiality, lighting, shadowing, and colour has given this home a spectacular street presence in the heart of Milford.

Thereās never been more inspiration at our fingertips.
And while thatās a beautiful thingāit can also be misleading.
Because a home that looks effortlessā¦
is rarely created that way.
Behind every refined, cohesive space
is a series of thoughtful decisionsā
how it flows, how it functions, how it feels to live in.
This is the difference between
collecting ideasā¦
and creating a home that truly works.
If youāre ready to move beyond inspiration
and create something considered, seamless, and entirely yoursā
thatās where we come in.
