We develop & support projects that use music to help people in need across Aotearoa, including those suffering from health conditions, disabled people and people that are at-risk and vulnerable. We also provide counselling, wellbeing and emergency financial support to kiwi music workers experiencing illness, distress and hardship.

MusicHelps is proud to support The Shed Project in Kāpiti, whose work creates opportunities for differently abled people through inclusion, training and employment.
Their Sound Minds project uses music to bring together people experiencing mental health challenges, providing a creative outlet and a supportive community. Music has the power to connect people, boost wellbeing, and create a sense of belonging.

To help this important work continue, MusicHelps has provided a selection of musical instruments to support participants on their musical journey.

Music has the power to build confidence, spark joy and help people express themselves in ways words sometimes can't.

MusicHelps is proud to support Hōhepa Wellington and its Music Therapy programme, which provides opportunities for intellectually disabled people to connect, create, and thrive through music. Whether it's playing the drums, singing a favourite song, or discovering a new way to communicate, music can help foster confidence, connection, and a deep sense of belonging.

We're delighted that a MusicHelps grant is helping make these meaningful experiences possible ❤️ To help support programmes like this across Aotearoa, donate to MusicHelps via the link in our bio.

At MusicHelps, we're proud to support organisations creating meaningful change through the power of music.
One of those organisations is Wellington, where people with intellectual disabilities have been taking part in weekly group music therapy sessions thanks to a MusicHelps Grant.
By combining our funding with another grant, Hōhepa was able to provide a full year of music therapy sessions that otherwise wouldn't have been possible.
The results have been inspiring. Participants have grown in confidence, expressed themselves in new ways, and formed genuine connections with one another and with their music therapist, Carlos.
Music therapy isn't just about making music, it's about creating a safe, joyful space where people can connect, communicate, and thrive.
Thank you to everyone who supports MusicHelps. Your donations help make programmes like this possible. ❤️
