Remember ‘less’ is ‘more’ in Pilates.
I learnt the hard way and should have known better!!
As many of you know Reformer Hip work feels so good.
I made the mistake of leaving my ankle weights on and going into a meditative state enjoying the moment and doing way too many reps. I stopped immediately as I felt my butt cramp in a way I have never felt before. It was my body telling me enough was enough but it was too late!
I’m not sure for definite but I reckon my piriformis muscle which helps the hip rotate outwards went into spasm. Now giving me piriformis syndrome that has effected my sciatica nerve.
It’s not a sharp pain more of a dull persistent ache that penetrates down my leg.
I’ve been spending the morning working on it with the foam roller and fascia ball trying to get to the deep muscle between the glutes.
I feel movement helps during the day but the aching is keeping me awake at night.
Any advice appreciated for relief.
