The name Te Oro has been gifted to the centre by Ngāti Pāoa with the endorsement of Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki and Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei.

We are excited to share that the talented Aotearoa Bone and Stone Carvers will be delivering a special interactive wānanga (workshop) to connect with Taonga Puoro—the treasures that bring sound to life.
In this hands-on workshop, you will learn both the history and craft of these traditional instruments, making and learning to play:
✨Kōauau (Māori flute) bamboo
✨ Porotiti (spinning wind instrument) native NZ timber
