Matariki weekend marked the end of a long wait to attend the lovely Leticia Kelly’s Sound Therapy work shop at Roto O Rangi Celestial Centre in Cambridge. It was well worth waiting for and I was in great company.
We used tuning forks on and off the body, Tibetan and crystal singing bowls, cymbals, glass, sticks, flutes, rain sticks, stones and our voices.
It’s amazing how sound, vibration and frequency can have such a positive effect on our health and well being.
My harp has come out of storage with a new lease of life.
These can all be integrated seamlessly into a Kahuna bodywork session elevating it to another level

For me, Kahuna Bodywork is the foundation or the centre of any session, I love the principles that expand into my life and I love performing the bodywork, so I count myself very lucky.
My penchant for ongoing learning has drawn me to some interesting and effective modalities that meld beautifully into a session.
I’ve taken advantage during these lockdowns to delve deeper into Erik Dalton’s myoskeletal techniques with some online courses. More recently, working with tuning forks has resonated with me.(pardon the pun)
The off the body forks utilise sound therapy, and the on the body forks utilise vibration, usually on the potent acupressure points. All of these learnings add extra layers and options to a session elevating the experience and the outcome. The options of heat- via hot stones- sound and vibration via the tuning forks, and gentle joint and fascial manipulation to increase range of movement, all complement and enhance what a Kahuna Bodywork provides. Truly holistic. Roll on level 2, I can’t wait to share it all.
