Vessev
We do some pretty hard things at Vessev and sometimes we choose the hardest option because it's also the best option.
Our vessels were built for commercial applications from day one, so we made the decision at the very beginning to build our hulls in-house, from scratch.
One thing most people will never see is the huge amount of work that goes into making the tooling to make our hulls. Our build team has poured in so much time and energy to get the moulds perfect, so all the hulls that come off them are super high quality.
Here's a behind the scenes peek at how we build our moulds (and how good it feels when it all goes to plan).
Two years ago our first VS–9 flew on the very first run. This week our vessels passed 10,000 nautical miles in commercial operation.
That's roughly halfway around the world in real, everyday conditions.
It's a huge milestone in an emerging category like ours. There are currently only four commercially certified eHVs in the world, and two of them are VS–9s.
Seeing it hit that 10,000 was a special moment for the team and it's a testament to their hard work, high standards, and genuine belief in what’s possible.
Here’s to the next 10,000 and more 🙌
P.S. Sound on for this one 🔉

"A breath of fresh air in the boating world."
Luxurious Magazine covered the launch of the VS–9 Skye, and they said it better than we could.
“The VS–9 Skye promises a revolution in comfort at sea via hydrofoils, blending America’s Cup technology with clean, spacious design… For luxury seekers, it’s hydrofoiling freedom wrapped in sustainable style.”
What they loved about it
🔸Remarkably smooth and quiet
🔸 Retractable foils for beaching and shallow-water adventures
🔸 Clean lines and smooth angles keep the focus on the foiling tech
🔸Comfortably hosts 10 passengers across three thoughtful zones

New Zealand is emerging as the global hub for electric hydrofoiling tourism.
It’s great to see TravelDailyNews Media Network highlighting the momentum we’re seeing here at home.
"Demand for electric hydrofoiling technology is accelerating worldwide, and New Zealand is increasingly recognised as a centre of excellence in this emerging segment. At the heart of this development is Auckland-based marine technology company Vessev, whose electric hydrofoiling vessels are being adopted by tourism operators worldwide."
Aotearoa was discovered by some of the world’s most advanced wayfinders, and that same restless spirit is what drives our marine innovation today. It feels right that the country that introduced modern hydrofoiling to the world in the 2013 America’s Cup is now becoming the global centre for its future.
We’re really proud to be part of the team setting this better world in motion.
