🕊🤍Today some of our team had the honour of representing Massey Matters and our wider West Auckland community to farewell one of our most special souls, Matua Bob 🕊
For many years, Matua continued to show up for us all, teaching Te Reo, supporting community initiatives and so, so much more. What better way to sum up what he meant to us all than with a few words our team, whānau, friends and volunteers appropriately used to describe their experiences with Matua Bob...
✨️Aroha, tautoko, whānau, wisdom, manaaki, honour, respect, diversity, Gra mor (big love in Irish), waitata, karakia, full of fun, patient, celebrated and inclusive of all cultures and diversity, always showed up, community, leader, gentle, kind, cheeky, generous, warm, welcoming, funny as hell, authentic, a great character... the brightest star in the sky✨️
(You will never be lost in the great forest of Tāne.A mighty tōtara tree has fallen in the great forest of Tāne. (A metaphor for a great leader).Depart now to the gathering of the esteemed ones, to the realm of memories.Go into the welcoming embrace of your ancestors.Rest well, o leader, rest well.Let it be gathered, let it be bound, let it be done!) 😇
