Kiwi athlete creates history by topping world rankings 13/11/2025

We're incredibly proud of Selena Goddard (2008-2012) who continues to make her mark in the world of lawn bowls!

Selena's journey began right here at Howick College when she took up the sport at just 14 years old. Her dedication and talent were evident early on - in 2011, she was presented with a Gold Award for her outstanding service to Lawn Bowls and representing New Zealand on the international stage.

It's inspiring to see how those early days on the greens have shaped such a remarkable career.
Congratulations, Selena! We're cheering you on every step of the way! 💚

🏆 CELEBRATING OUR 2025 DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI RECIPIENT - STEVE GURNEY!

Steve Gurney (1977-1981, Bell House) received the Distinguished Alumni Award yesterday, and what a remarkable journey it's been since his days at Howick College.

During his time at Howick College, Steve was an academic honours student who threw himself into college life - particularly as an active member of the tramping club in his 7th form year. Those early adventures in the outdoors clearly planted the seeds for his legendary career in adventure racing and multisport!

Steve shared that driving through Pakuranga and Howick brought back a flood of memories from his college and university days. He took time to walk through our school grounds with our Head Students, reminiscing about his formative years at Howick College.

From Bell House student to New Zealand sporting legend - we couldn't be prouder!

Congratulations Steve, and thank you for inspiring our current students with your incredible story.
