Cancer Cases Expected To Rise Sharply By 2050
The World Health Organization is warning that cancer cases could increase from 20.6 million to 35 million a year by 2050.
For New Zealand, where cancer is already the country's leading cause of death, the report highlights the growing importance of prevention, early detection, screening and access to the latest treatments.
It also offers hope, with researchers around the world making rapid progress in personalised cancer vaccines and immunotherapy.
