There are many ways to embrace Matariki: gaze skyward to find the Matariki star cluster, gather with whānau and friends to share kai, remember loved ones who have passed, contribute to your community, practise your te reo Māori, nurture winter crops in your māra/garden.

At BBR, we take this time to whakatā/rest and reflect. We hope you find a moment to embrace the spirit of Matariki and enjoy a meaningful start to the Māori New Year.

Our team has been working with Radius Care and artist Mandalina Stanisich to bring to the community ‘Safety Net’, a thought-provoking art installation for this year’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Week (15-22 June). From meetings, communications to media liaison and coverage monitoring, we have been part of this meaningful project every step of the way.
