Right just waking up from a long winter hibernation 🙂

So quick update on bumblebee, massive rebuild over last few months as per pictures. After a s**t season where I wasn’t right health wise or in the zone mentally along with car not prepared to our normal standards which ended with the predictable result of f**k all success I decided to get my s**t together and do things properly.

Car came out great after many hours of chopping, grinding and welding. New hip plates, bumpers, guards, sides, and numerous other repairs it’s now back straight and square with best engine package we have ever had as per the pictures below.

In some breaking news, car is sold and the new owner has outed himself on instagram so I will formally announce here, drum roll …………. New owner is ……… worlds fastest lettuce yep Olliver LeTissier is the new owner and we are excited to see how he goes in a genuinely competitive car having got started in the ageing family loan car.

Rebuild of the family loan car has also started and I will wheel it out later in the season to keep the young fellas honest

Jag is resting quietly at the Cambridge branch and will also make an appearance later in the season if Rory ever gets his s**t together

Danielle is back doing the worlds most thankless job as class rep for Streetstocks in Auckland and we all thank her for her service 🙂 let’s be honest she loves streetstocks as much as I do, love you homie xx

In summary SNB is alive and well just different and looking forward to the long overdue upgrades to the Waikaraka park venue. That new banking should suit our cars and despite giving Ollie s**t we are all 100% behind him and excited to see how he goes

Olliver Le Tissier: So it's been almost a week now since the True Property Builders NZ Streetstock Championship New Zealand title race at Prestige Pools Waikaraka Family Speedway so thought I best do a little (not so little) write up.

Friday and Saturday I was man down with the flu, and made the hard decision to pull out. With it only being my first ever title chance and having only raced for 1 season, I was pretty gutted. HOWEVER, the rain gods, for once, did me a favour and kept it impossible to race until the Monday where I was feeling better but still not great.

Sunday the legends Rosy Walters, Paul Collins and I made the decision let's race Monday, so we scrambled to do some last minute bits on the car. Monday morning, got there nice and early so Logan Winiata Carl at Winiata Customs could do his magic with my new numbers.

Qualis:
I was in Smart Sparkz group 1 with some very competitive drivers and cars. Race 1 started 9th, managed to stay clean and finished 7th. Race 2, started 18th, managed to get up to about 8th but got DQ for an outside flat on the last lap. Race 3 started 2nd, had some trouble off the line and ended up finishing 6th which meant i was tied on points for 9th overall with only the top 8 from all 3 groups automatically qualifying for Tier 1.

Repocharge:
With finishing well on points, we got a second shot at qualifying for Tier 1 starting around grid 8. We got off to a bumpy start, it was absolute carnage, probably my favourite race ever. Took some big hits from some South Island cars but gave it back just as hard. There was lots of damage to everyone but managed to cross the line in P2 behind Daniel Curran from Rotorua,, securing my place in the Tier 1 title fight. Seeing my crew and supporters on the side of the track screaming in joy that I'd made it, was honestly my highlight of the event.

Tier 1 Title finals:
Thanks to the handy work of the crew, Colin, Emma, Shane, Rosy, Ian, Kev, Paul, Nicole, Diane and anyone else I have missed, we got alot of damage to the car bandaged up and I was off within 25mins to jump straight into race 1 of the finals. These finals are racing with the best in the country and it felt surreal to represent the Skull n Bones Racing team in such a high class title fight.

Grids for the finals were mental - Race 1 = pole, race 2 = 20th, race 3 = 14th.

Race 1, I managed to hold the lead for about 3 laps, never been so tense in my life and after a few hits and a bit of getting around in 1 piece, managed to secure 13th.

Race 2, was very much the same. Carnage everywhere, some really fast action, but held myself together and went from 20th to 12th. This meant I was sitting in 10th overall. That's 10th in the country.

Race 3, Ronnie the RX8 was really battered and bruised, and eventually he'd had enough at the end of lap 1 and decided he was going to stop working, putting an end to my title fight but man I was stoked.

So overall, came in at 15NZ. A feat I'd never of dreamed of, and a smile so big I didn't care how sick or tired I was still. This is something I'll never forget.

And last but not least to my wife Courtney Le Tissier who was sat at home, 38 weeks pregnant, you're a star for giving me the time and energy to get out there and for everything you do and always have done to help me enjoy this crazy sport. Love you heaps.

For now, it's time for a bit of a break but I'll be back flying some dirt soon.
