Though not designated as a trauma hospital, Waitakere Hospital often has major trauma cases appearing on their doorstep. ED drop-offs come without warning and present unique challenges for a centre that doesn't have the surgical services to manage such injuries. While there are always ways to improve, at our recent Trauma simulation session, Waitakere showcased their expertise and adaptability in managing such cases. The session provided valuable training for the Health NZ - Waitematā hospital team while also providing an opportunity to test the Northern Region Trauma Networks new paediatric trauma referral service in real-time. Thank you to everyone who played a part in such a successful day!

We have two very different courses running concurrently at NetworkZ today! Our Technical Training course is giving participants an up close and personal look at the world inside the SimMan 3G manikin, with the help from our expert friends Laerdal Australia and New Zealand, while our Instructor Training course has everyone in deep discussion about the mechanisms underlying effective debriefing following simulations.
