Things don’t always go to plan on the farm. This little guy was one of a set of twins, but sadly, his mum only accepted his sibling and wanted nothing to do with him. After efforts to get her to take him back failed, it was clear he wasn’t safe with her as she was actively and persistantly trying to do him harm—so now he’s being bottle raised.

Enter Sadie. She usually works the stock, not cuddling up with them, but it didn’t take long for her to accept him. Now she’s caring for him and loving on him like he's her own, and he’s living his best life indoors (for now). Once he’s bigger, he’ll head outside with the rest of the flock—but for the moment, he’s got a warm bed, full bottle, and a very loyal dog 🐾🍼🐑

The past year has been a journey of growth and learning for us - building a stable, constructing fences, raising calves, and expanding our sheep flock. From last years rearing, we've kept three calves who are now six months old and thriving.
Now, we're preparing for the year ahead, with construction on our new stable starting soon to accommodate this year's calves for rearing. Exciting times to come!

Ended 2024 with moving into a new place. 😍 A lot happened over the last year, some positive, some negative. However, we are now having our own new beginning and starting fresh in our new location. I endeavor to post more frequently and we have some big projects coming up in the next few months to share! 🤗

Introduced Tui and Bandit to traffic today by standing at the end of the driveway. 🚙
They were quite nervous but they did very well for their first time 💕
By practicing groundwork and building a connection with these two horses, I am giving them the tools to help them have confidence and trust in me which helps to keep them calm and sensible in scary situations.
Every horse will be nervous at some point but it is how they respond and deal with the situation that matters, this is on us and our responsibility to get them to a relaxed state of mind 😊
