Our palliative care babies

Tumnus and Cody are our two oldest residents, at 16 and 18 respectively.

They both have underlying health issues, but at their advanced age our focus is on symptom management and keeping them happy and healthy.

What does this practically look like?

Medication; for Tumnus it's daily, for Cody it's administered monthly by a vet.

Special diets; Cody's prescription diet is actually paid for by her original family. They still love her dearly. Tumnus's family also provided a healthy fund to cover his costs of living.

Extra cuddles and love; these two get special attention and the rules don't always apply to them 🤣

Focus on happiness; we do everything we can to keep all our cats, but in particular, these two, happy, content and getting the most out of every day.

They both love sun soaking, pats, being brushed and chowing down at meal times.

We know we don't have a long time with these babies, but we'll make it a good time.

Rescue is so multifaceted, but I'll be honest, holding the oldies in their golden years is the most rewarding part for me.
