When people evaluate a touchscreen platform, the conversation often starts with screen size, resolution, and appearance.

But experienced OEMs know that successful products depend on much more than the screen itself.

Long lifecycle support, reliability, embedded software control, compliance requirements, and engineering support can all play a major role in a product's long-term success.

At Eight Development, we help OEMs build complete touchscreen interface platforms that balance performance, reliability, lifecycle management, and user experience.

What do you think matters most when selecting a touchscreen platform?

🚀 Exciting Partnership Announcement

Eight Development is proud to be working with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. on a next-generation motherboard platform, purpose-built for the security, Pro AV, fire safety, and related mission-critical verticals.

At the heart of this new platform is Qualcomm's latest processor, featuring an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), bringing powerful on-device AI inference directly to the edge. This enables lower latency, enhanced data privacy, and real-time intelligent processing without relying on cloud connectivity.

For OEMs, this represents a meaningful advancement in how intelligent systems can be architected, enabling scalable, embedded AI within products that demand reliability, performance, and long-term stability.

This platform also forms the foundation for the next evolution of Eight’s user interface technologies, including the AI-driven capabilities previewed at ISC West through our AI Codepad demonstration.

We believe this collaboration marks an important step toward enabling the next generation of intelligent, edge-based systems across the security and building technology landscape.

Further updates will be shared as development progresses.

If you already have a touchscreen security interface in the market, you’re closer to AI than you think.

At ISC West 2026, we introduced the 8D AI Codepad Module — a locally processed, voice-interactive AI engine designed to integrate into existing security hardware.
For manufacturers already shipping touchscreen interfaces, this isn’t a replacement. It’s an upgrade path.

Instead of rebuilding your product from scratch, you can extend what’s already in the field.
• Local AI (no cloud dependency)
• No ongoing token costs
• Wide API compatibility
• Designed for real-world integration

With over 12 years of experience building user interfaces for the security industry, we’ve designed this to fit seamlessly into existing architectures.

👉 If your team is exploring what AI looks like in your next platform release, this is worth a conversation.
