MAYEN, Wilhelmina (Min) — On July 15, 2026. Passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Aspiring Care, Wanaka; in her 92nd year.

Dearly loved wife of Nick* for 70 years, much loved Mother and Mother-in-law of Henri and Diane, Johnny and Trudy, and Sue*, dearest Oma to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Barry and Maria*, and a favourite Aunty to all her nieces and nephews. (*denotes deceased).

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dave & Estelle, and the staff at Aspiring Care for their overwhelming compassion and support throughout Min’s journey.

A celebration of Min’s life will be held in The Holy Family Catholic Church, 145 Aubrey Road, Wanaka at 12:00 pm on Saturday July 18, followed by interment at Hawea Cemetery.

GOYEN, John (Jack) Franklyn

Late of Alexandra- On Wednesday July 8, 2026, at Aspiring Care Wanaka.

Son of the late Thomas Raymond and Ellen Sarah Goyen (nee McConnell) of East Taieri. Dearly loved husband of Jackie, loved dad of Karen and Michael Reading, Bridgette and Paul van den Broek, Rebecca and Hami Smiler, and grandfather to Joshua, David, Daniel, Claire, Melinda, Jessica, Simon, and Anna, and great/great grandfather to 20.

A service for Jack will be held in the Cellar Door, 143A Centennial Ave, Alexandra, at 2pm on Wednesday July 15.

PERKINS, David Joseph (Perky), formerly of Dunedin.

Peacefully at Aspiring Care, Wanaka on June 27, 2026; aged 82 years.

Loved husband of the late Maureen Perkins, devoted father and father-in-law to Brent*, Kerrie and Eric (Karitane), Patrick and Tracey (Wanaka), super grandad to Nicol, Dylan, Brent and Taylor, Josh, Jake and Gabbie, Jorja, Lisa and Jacinta, loved great GG to Izzy, Madison, and Darcy, eldest child of Alan* and Vida* Perkins, loved brother and brother-in-law of Ellen and Ian (Western Australia), Gordon and Sandra (Alexandra), Stan & Adrienne (Christchurch), Pat & Dick (Wellington), and much loved by all his nieces and nephews.

A huge thank you for the most amazing care Dave received by all the staff at Aspiring Care (Hawea wing), you always went over and above, and we are so very grateful beyond words.

To all our family and friends that assisted with Dad during his dementia journey we are eternally grateful.

A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at Campbell and Sons, 95 Gordon Road, Mosgiel at 2.00pm, on Thursday 9th July.

In lieu of flowers donation to Dementia NZ would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
