hands, the band started to delve into the song-writing process and moved from covers band to nationally recognised originals artist all in the space of one lockdown. In May 2020, the band released their first single ‘Only You’, which was quickly picked up by The Hits radio station as part of an iHeartRadio promotion. After an interview on ‘Nights with Estelle’, the song gained momentum across radio rotation, social media and streaming platforms, receiving thousands of streams. It didn’t take long for the single to gain a placing on the Hot NZ Singles chart on The Official New Zealand Music Chart. After the phenomenal success of their first single, the band released their second single ‘Got This Feeling’, which was again premiered on The Hits radio station. This was closely followed by their third single, ‘Love In My Own Time’, which was reviewed by many national and international publications. In July of 2021, their first EP, ‘HABITAT’ was released, which led to a sold-out debut show. Mirrors have shared the stage with artists such as Wulfie, Kei and Josette. Mirrors has stuck to their roots as live musicians, providing an authentic music experience for listeners, reminiscent of pop sensations Harry and Styles and Florence + the Machine. With a sound built around lead vocals, listeners are captivated by Susie’s impressive vocal range, which has been channelled through powerhouses such as Lizzo and Demi Lovato. Mirrors has hit the ground running, and they are only just getting started. With plans for national tours and a debut album in 2023, there is a lot to be excited for with this promising band.
