Happy World Bee Day 2026!
“Bee together for people and the planet – a partnership that sustains us all.”
Today, we celebrate the incredible role of pollinators in sustaining biodiversity, strengthening ecosystems, and securing our food systems. Their work is essential, yet under threat.
From habitat loss and climate change to harmful agricultural practices, pollinator populations are declining. The impacts are already visible: reduced yields, declining nutrition, rising farming costs, biodiversity loss, and serious challenges for smallholder farmers. In Nepal alone, pollinators contribute an estimated NPR 50 billion annually to the economy.
Now more than ever, we must act.
Let us BEE TOGETHER to protect pollinators by:
- Raising awareness
- Engaging communities
- Planting diverse, pollinator-friendly flowers
- Reducing pesticide use
- Supporting local beekeeping initiatives
As we move towards IYWF 2026, let’s also celebrate and support women in beekeeping, recognizing their vital contributions to sustainable livelihoods and environmental stewardship.
Together, we can create a future where people, pollinators, and the planet thrive.
