Our Putukka Stool is made entirely from recycled plastic and carefully handcrafted by local artisans right here in Kathmandu Valley. Its playful yet elegant form is inspired by the intricate woodcarvings found in classic Nepali furniture, and the cultural phenomena of sitting on a ‘muda’ and enjoying chiya at a local tea shop 💚

Sustainability you can sit on: our ‘Putukka’ stool is handcrafted from 4kg of recycled waste plastic🇳🇵♻️ Inspired by classic woodcrafting techniques in Nepal and India, every stool is co-created with local artisans. We worked exclusively with Siddhi dai - who has over 30 years of experience as a carpenter - to carve out the ‘Putukka Prototype’. We gave him the design and he gave us a lesson on functionality 101! Because what is sustainability without functionality and quality approved by a master carpenter? The 'Chitikka Side Table' is made from 3.5 kg of recycled HDPE plastic, mostly found in plastic bottle caps, shampoo bottles, yoghurt containers, etc. This design can easily be flat-packed for easy transportation and/or shipping and is definitely a statement piece in any room.
