WISHING YOU A HAPPY SA:PARU🇳🇵🕉️ Sa:Paru is the newa term for G*i Jatra.🐮 So this was my day during this auspicious occasion. After a long and tiring morning, spent on an empty stomach had to had a filling lunch with the Nepali thali at @casa_pagoda .🍛 So just something I wanted to write about.👀 While watching the jatra this year, one thing that truly was a disappointment was that there were many people asking for alms while wearing the costume of the cow.🙅‍♂️ People to participate in the jatra as a cow are praying for the peace of the departed soul of their family.🕊️ But today literally there were many people who without knowing the significance of the costume and tradition just wore it so as it get more alms.💢 But this I feel is something that hurts the tradition which I as a newar am particularly proud of.
