At Karkhana Samuha, we believe in creating opportunities for young people to learn, experiment, and grow. To make this possible, we are running projects like the Book Bus, where we engage youth in hands-on activities, spark curiosity, and create meaningful skill-building experiences.
By creating these kinds of learning spaces, we aim to help young people think independently, work collaboratively, and turn their ideas into action.

As the Book Bus continues its journey, we’re collecting moments that show how learning takes shape in different places. This stop: a community space in Ramnagarbirta, Mahottari.
On this visit, we created a space where children and adults explored storybooks, played board games, and engaged with hands-on PEBL activities. Even with schools closed for winter, the Book Bus drew in the community, and students gathered in numbers, many stepping into a shared learning space for the first time.

Since 2025, the U.S. Embassy’s Book Bus has been on the move across Madhesh, visiting Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha, Hetauda, and Chitwan. At each stop, it connected with students and community members through reading circles, open libraries, hands-on activities, and conversations on entrepreneurship and creative problem-solving.
Each visit created space to explore, ask questions, and share ideas. In some places, students stayed late just to keep reading. In others, grandparents flipped through books while children nearby built Scribble Bots. These moments inspire us to keep bringing books closer, sparking curiosity, and making learning meaningful.
Together, we are bringing the joy of reading to communities across Nepal, which blends local resources with inspiring works from American literature, cultural insights, and educational content.
