We are delighted to share that Dr. Ramu Kharel successfully presented HAPSA Nepal’s research work at SAEM 2026 in Atlanta on two important emergency care topics:
1. “Validation of Culturally Adapted Prehospital Emergency Care Just-in-Time Videos for Community Health Responders in Rural Nepal”
2. “Diagnostic Accuracy and Feasibility of Midlevel-Performed Point-of-Care Ultrasound for Upper Extremity Fractures in Rural Nepal”
The video validation research highlights an innovative approach to strengthening emergency care training for community health responders in rural Nepal, and this work is now being adapted by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The POCUS research demonstrates the potential of point-of-care ultrasound to improve timely diagnosis, support midlevel healthcare providers, and expand access to emergency care in rural settings.
These successful presentations reflect HAPSA Nepal’s continued commitment to advancing evidence-based, scalable, and locally relevant emergency care solutions for Nepal and beyond.
