The Holy Lake, Gosaikunda. As per the myth, when Lord Shiva drank all the poison from the seas, he walked these hills, left his stick (Lauri) and walked without it, thus the name Lauribina, upto the present lake area. Very thirsty, with his mighty Trishul, he struck the mountain and quenched his thirst. Geographically, there is no evidence of the source of the water which comes from the top of a mountain out of three openings continuously till date, which is shockingly around 50-70 thousand years according to Shiva Purana. Yogis can still feel the divine energy in this area. Truly a majestic feeling just being in the area.
