A 40-year-old single mother made the long journey from her village in Dhading to Kathmandu—not for help, but simply to say thank you.
She came bearing gifts from her garden: maize flour and fresh spinach. Humble offerings, yet rich with meaning.
Her eldest daughter graduated from school this year—a milestone she once only dreamed of. We may have supported her along the way, but the real credit belongs to her. It was her unwavering commitment, her quiet strength, and her tireless work that made this possible.
Her gratitude moved us deeply. But more than that, her story reminded us: when a mother dares to dream for her children, even the steepest paths can be climbed.

A New Chapter Begins: Anita’s Journey and the Evolution of a Mission
Anita (name changed ) , a resilient young woman who recently completed her +2 board exams, walked out of the transit home’s gates one final time, marking the end of an era. Her departure symbolized not just a personal milestone but also the closing chapter of a 13-year legacy. The transit home, a sanctuary for vulnerable children and survivors of violence, had served as a refuge, offering safety, care, and hope. Anita’s hopeful exit—a testament to the project’s impact—now paves the way for a renewed mission: empowering Nepal’s most marginalized children through education.
With the transit home project concluding, Access shifts its focus to tackling the root causes of child exploitation. In a country where high dropout rates fuel cycles of early marriage, child labor, and trafficking, our new initiative aims to equip children with school supplies and resources, ensuring they remain in classrooms and out of harm’s way. Education, we believe, is the cornerstone of lasting change.
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering solidarity of countless allies. We extend our deepest gratitude to the courageous children and families who trusted us, dedicated colleagues, visionary donors, partner NGOs, the National Center for Children at Risk (104), Nepal Police, and the National Child Rights Council. Your collaboration transformed lives and fortified our resolve.
As we turn this page, Access reaffirms its commitment to safeguarding child rights. Through education-focused interventions, we will continue to stand beside Nepal’s most vulnerable children, nurturing futures where every child can thrive—unburdened by fear, and empowered by opportunity.
The journey continues.
