SWAN’s Founder Chairperson, Mr. Krishna Karki, recently conducted a field visit to project sites across Karnali and the Far-Western Province, engaging directly with community members to better understand the challenges faced by people living in remote areas of Nepal.

Mr. Karki met with local men and women, farmers, teachers, community leaders, and children during his visit to Tumcha village in Humla, Kuru village in Bajura, and Ramaroshan village in Achham district. He witnessed firsthand the daily struggles of these communities and listened to their aspirations for a better life. He also held extensive discussions with local stakeholders on how the organization can effectively respond to their needs.

Based on these interactions and field observations, Mr. Karki emphasized that only integrated development efforts—focusing on education, maternal and child health, livelihoods, and eco-tourism—can lead to lasting change and build self-reliant, resilient communities in these regions.

“We can help empower communities through holistic and sustainable interventions that will create meaningful impact in the remote places of Nepal, and we are committed to bringing that change for the sake of people in need,” said Mr. Karki.

SWAN remains dedicated to bringing lasting change to Nepal’s most remote and underserved regions.
