Bojini Dam, a spectacular destination, yet still relatively unknown, is a sight many even within Kathmandu have yet to witness. So, if you are in search of a rejuvenating place to see and a new trail to hike to, the Bojini Dam on the way to Nagarkot is just the goal you need to set.

Bojini Dam lies on the way to Nagarkot. Before reaching the top of Nagarkot height you can find Kalamasi Height Resort and after taking a diversion from the main road, in around 10 minutes you can reach the destination. The way is quite off-road after the diversion. You can find the artificial lake out there created by the Dam. From what we heard the lake is about 20ft deep. Located in a very secret place and surrounded by pine trees and green meadows, you can experience tranquil nature around the lake. The place is so quiet and peaceful and it is beginning to attract tourists in recent times. You can go there for swimming, picnics, bbq parties and also for camping. The best time to visit the place is in the evening when you get to watch breathtaking views as the sun sets under the horizon. One downside of your trip may be the lack of parking space and the lack of shops or eateries nearby.
So, if you wish to refresh your soul and your mind, we suggest you go and find a breath-taking view of Kathmandu valley and a blissful sunset staying at nature's lap. If you have time to spare you could still go further to Muhan Pokhari, a small pond near the dam or yet you could spend the night at Nagarkot, just a few minutes drive away from the dam after all the sightseeing.
