On September 13, 2024, the MITINI team from MITRA Samaj visited Shree Krishna Secondary School in Chhaimale, Dakshinkali, to conduct another impactful Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) workshop for a newer group of students. With the aim of empowering young adolescents through education and breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation in schools and communities, the session was successfully led by Ms. Phobe Barahi, Ms. Awantika Rimal, and Ms. Aastha Swar.
*Workshop Highlights:*
- Engaged 27 students from grades 6 and 7.
- Discussed topics such as puberty, the female reproductive system, menstrual cycles, debunking myths, and managing period discomfort.
- Emphasized the important role men play in supporting menstruation.
- Engaged students through interactive activities, including quizzes, myth-busting sessions, and product demonstrations.
*Key Takeaways:*
- Improved understanding of menstrual health among all genders.
- Created a safe and supportive environment for open discussions about periods.
- Promoted empathy and understanding within friendships and relationships.
We want to emphasize that this success would not have been possible without the constant support of our cherished partners, to whom we are deeply grateful.
