Works by Jan Hakon Erichsen

One of the artists you can visit today during

Jan works with performance for video, sharing new pieces daily on social media. He explores our relationship to everyday objects, often through exaggerated destruction or unconventional use. The performances are largely sculpture-based, with everything from simple constructions to more complex contraptions built to destroy objects of low economic value. Over the past seven years the internet has been his primary venue, reaching millions of viewers worldwide. After graduating from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, his work has been shown in galleries and institutions in Norway and abroad, and featured in Art in America, Kunstforum International and The New York Times.

This weekend over 400 artists are opening the doors to their studios across Oslo. Atelie is proud to once again support Oslo Open in their important work.

St.Hans by Mari Kjøll

One of the artists you can visit today (12-17) during

Mari works with painting, drawing and sculpture — exploring the interplay between form, format and colour. She combines oil paint and collage, drawing quick sketches in pencil and chalk before gluing them between brushstrokes on canvas. Forms repeat in varying sizes, colours and textures — a kind of visual archaeology, searching for structures rooted in something larger. Tools, animal bodies and hands recur as symbols of action, force and physical work.
