The Visual Computing Forum, or VCF, is a series of seminars organized by the Visualzation group [1] with selected talks from the fields of visualization, image processing, computer graphics, and so on. This Friday, Cagatay Turkay (Visualization Group, UiB) will give an overview of visualization techniques targeted at the geographical domain. The talk, which is also Cagatay's trial lecture, will take place on Nov. 8., from 10.15 to 11.15. All the details are summarized on our seminar page: www.ii.uib.no/vis/vcf

We are glad to announce that the Visual Computing Forum seminar series will resume this Friday, August 23, entering its 3rd year. This Friday, our speaker will be Stefan Bruckner, professor at the VisGroup and an awarded scientist in the international visualization research community. The seminar will be preceded by another notable event: Andreas Lind, one of our Master student, will defend his MSc thesis, entitled "Selected Opportunities for the Semiautomatic Analysis of Spectrally Decomposed Seismic Data". The defense will start at 8.45 in the same room.
