We are pleased to share the Special Collection on "Exploring and Altering Existing Practices in Higher Education within the Framework of Reconnection to Self, Others, and Nature."
This Special Collection focuses on perspectives and implementations for reimagining higher education within a Western context, with a particular emphasis on Education for Sustainable Development ( ). It reflects on the experiences of students who worked on a project over two semesters as part of a four-year degree program Global Project and Change Management (GPCM) | Honours College. The project informed the creation of practical learning activities and tools to integrate self, others, and nature into higher education for sustainable development, promoting a shift toward and holistic educational frameworks that incorporate non-Western narratives and practices.
The collection includes four articles: an introduction; an essay on Value Creators (VC) and Managing Projects for Sustainable Development (MPSD) semesters using systems thinking and Theory U; and two research articles on spirituality and transformative teaching competencies.
