Tanzania's free SMS health campaign helps pregnant women, new mothers 22/09/2015

Proud to see that AFYA Connect4Change LakeZone’s contributions to the national SMS campaign 'Wazazi Nipendeni' ('Parents Love Me' in Swahili) have been fruitful. The campaign has reached over 125,000 pregnant women in remote areas of Tanzania, who receive health information via text messages. AfyaC4C has organised orientation workshops in 14 dispensaries, 2 health centres and 1 hospital in the Sengerema and Bariadi Districts. Altogether AfyaC4C has trained 150 health professionals on maternal healthcare and how to register new users.
