This year’s edition of CHURCH MUSIC is created in collaboration with Klankvorm. Together, they bring forward an evening shaped specifically for the church’s unique acoustic and architectural character. Four artists draw from diverse sonic traditions and experimental approaches, letting their work respond directly to the space itself. From acoustic resonance to sacred aesthetics, every element of the performances is attuned to its surroundings; blurring the lines between the visceral and the transcendental.

OPEN ARMS: ORAN ETKIN INVITES REMBRANDT FRERICHS AND JULIANO ABRAMOVAY

The most magical moments happen in the spontaneous exchange on stage—when creative, open-minded musicians come together and truly listen and share. On June 4 in Rotterdam, clarinetist Oran Etkin from New York is joined by Dutch pianist Rembrandt Frerichs and Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Juliano Abramovay (oud, guitar) for an evening shaped in real time.

ALEKSANDRA TONELLI HOSTS: RICARDO SILVA – IN BETWEEN – ALBUM RELEASE

Through an innermost performance of his original music, Rotterdam-based Portuguese harmonicist Ricardo Silva will use the stage to share stories narrated in his debut album ‘In Between’. Together with Jelle Willems, Giuseppe Bordasco, David Puíme and guests, Ricardo Silva’s Group will provide an opportunity to take an exclusive first look at the integrity of their new release.
