Before shipping code, here’s a simple secure coding checklist every development team should run through:

• Input validation – Are all user inputs validated and sanitized?
• Authentication & access control – Are authentication and authorization checks properly implemented?
• Data protection – Is sensitive data encrypted both in transit and at rest?
• Dependency security – Are third-party libraries updated and checked for vulnerabilities?
• Error handling – Do error messages avoid exposing internal system details?
• Logging & monitoring – Are important security events logged and monitored?
• Secrets management – Are API keys, tokens, and credentials stored securely instead of inside the code?

Small checks during development can prevent major security incidents later.
