Olaf

The hand of the chief's daughter beckons as a reward - even if Olaf isn't quite sure what that would mean for him. The character does not come from an Asterix book, but was created specifically for the plot of the cartoon "Asterix and the Vikings". Olaf is a Nordic male name common throughout Scandinavia. It comes from the Swedish aai leif, which means ancestral offspring. The name can already be found in documents from the Viking Age.
